A large proportion of the industrial cooling towers running on the Gulf Coast were built by companies that have been sold, renamed, absorbed or shut down. The tower is fine. The support behind it is gone.

When that happens, an owner is normally told the tower is obsolete and offered a replacement. Very often that is not true. The component that failed is a gearbox, a fan, a driveline, a nozzle or a fill pack, and all of those are available, just not from the name on the casing.

Because we are independent and have been doing this since 1964, we can identify what is fitted, find the current equivalent, and confirm it fits before you buy it. Names like Lillie-Hoffman, Ecodyne, Thermal Dynamic and the old Pritchard line are routine to us, and so are the discontinued component lines behind them: Robertshaw vibration switches, Reliance Electric motors, wood lath fill.

What that means in practice

• Any manufacturer, any model: including towers whose original makers no longer exist
• Cross-referencing from an obsolete part to a current, verified equivalent
• Identification from photographs when the nameplate is gone or unreadable
• Independent recommendation: we do not manufacture towers, so we have nothing to protect
